PORK RECIPE
1
kg (2 lb.) pork chops
1/2
- 250 g (8 oz.) pkt wonton wrappers
Oil
for deep-frying
MARINADE
4
tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2
tablespoons soy sauce
2
tablespoons sugar
1/2-teaspoon
salt
1-teaspoon
corn flour
Remove
the rind from the pork chops and cut the pork into 4 cm (1½ in.) pieces.
Combine
Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, sugar, salt and corn flour and mix well for
marinade.
Put
pork into marinade and leave to stand for 30 minutes, turning occasionally.
Dot
one corner of the wonton wrapper with water and fold in half diagonally - You
will need approximately 15 wrappers.
Heat
the oil in frying pan or wok and deep-fry the wrappers until golden brown –
then remove and drain on absorbent paper.
Fry
a few at a time so wrappers brown evenly.
Drain
the pork from the marinade and reserve half the marinade.
Heat
2 tablespoons of oil in wok, add the drained pork and cook until golden brown.
Pour
the reserved marinade over, bring to boil then reduce the heat to simmer until
the marinade thickens and coats pork.
Serve
garnished with the wonton wrappers.
Serves
4 to 6.
