SAVORY MINCE RECIPE

g (1 oz.) butter

onion

g (1½ lb.) minced steak
Salt,
pepper

teaspoon mixed herbs

tablespoons plain flour
1-cup
water

beef stock cube
3
tablespoons tomato sauce
2
tablespoons chopped parsley
Heat
the butter in a wide, shallow pan; add peeled and chopped onion, minced steak,
salt, pepper and mixed herbs.
Stir
constantly over a medium heat until meat is well browned. Pour off any surplus
fat.
Add
the flour and stir for 3 minutes. Gradually add water, add crumbled stock cube
and tomato sauce and stir until mixture boils and thickens.
Reduce
the heat and simmer un-covered for 10 to 15 minutes.
Stir
in half of parsley and just before serving; sprinkle the remainder of the
parsley over the top of the meat.
Serve
with rice or mashed potatoes or spoon onto hot, buttered toast.
