cold water
Salt,

Melt
butter in frying pan and sauté peeled, chopped onion until lightly browned.
Add
peeled and grated carrot and peeled and grated parsnip, cabbage, water and
salt and pepper.
Cover
and cook over a low heat and shaking the pan occasionally for 3 to 4 minutes.
Add
grated cheese and mix through lightly.

cup lemon juice

cup orange juice

teaspoons gelatine

tablespoons cold water
Beat
egg-yolks and sugar until creamy.
Add
strained lemon and orange juices and mix well.
Add
Gelatine to cold water, stand for 5 minutes, dissolve over hot water then cool
to lukewarm.
Add
Gelatine and vanilla to the egg mixture and stir well.
Refrigerate
until beginning to set, and then beat until it thickens slightly.
Beat
the egg whites until soft peaks form the fold into the egg mixture.
Pour
into a wetted mould and refrigerate until set.
